# How to Connect to Your Game Server via FTP
At Rampage Hosting, you can access and manage your game server files using the FTP connection feature in your control panel.
This allows you to connect to your server's files using your FTP login details.
Step 1 — Find Your FTP Information
- Log in to your Rampage Hosting Control Panel.
- Select the game server you want to manage.
- Find the section labelled FTP & File Info.
You will see the following information:
- FTP Address: Your server's FTP IP address and port.
- Username: Your assigned FTP username.
- Password: Your password is hidden for security.
- Root Directory: The folder containing your game server files.
Your FTP information is unique to your account or server. Always use the details shown in your own control panel.
Step 2 — Open the FTP Connection
- Find the FTP Address inside the FTP & File Info section.
- Click the arrow button (→) next to your FTP address.
- A window titled Connect via FTP will appear.
This window allows you to enter your login details and connect.
Step 3 — Enter Your Login Details
Inside the Connect via FTP window, you will see two fields.
USERNAME
Your FTP username should already be filled in automatically.
PASSWORD
Enter the password you normally use to log in to your Rampage Hosting control panel.
Make sure you enter your password correctly.
You can click the eye icon to show or hide your password while typing.
Remember Password
You may also see an option labelled Remember password on this device.
- Tick this option if you want the browser to remember your password.
- Leave it unticked if you prefer to enter your password each time.
- We recommend leaving it unticked on shared or public computers.
Step 4 — Connect to Your Server
Once you have entered your details:
- Check that your username is correct.
- Enter your control panel password.
- Click the orange Connect button.
- Wait for the connection to complete.
If the connection is successful, you can access your game server files.
Step 5 — Managing Your Game Server Files
Once connected, you can use the available file management features to manage your server files.
Depending on your permissions, these may include:
- Uploading files.
- Downloading files.
- Editing configuration files.
- Creating folders.
- Renaming or deleting files.
IMPORTANT: Before editing important configuration files, we recommend stopping your game server first.
Some files may be locked while your server is running, resulting in a "file is being used by another process" error.
After making your changes, start your game server again.
Having Trouble Connecting?
If your FTP connection fails, please check the following:
- Make sure you are entering the correct control panel password.
- Check that your FTP username matches the one shown in your control panel.
- Check that your FTP address and port are correct.

If you still cannot connect, please open a support ticket through your Rampage Hosting customer dashboard or contact our support team through Discord.
Security reminder: Never share your FTP or control panel password with anyone, including in support tickets or screenshots.
